  • General Speech/Language Therapy

Rebecca has experience providing general speech/language therapy to children from the ages of 2-14. Whether your child needs help with understanding what is said to them in both social and academic contexts, effectively expressing themselves in social or academic settings, or being understood by others, Rebecca has a knack for discovering what is at the root of the communication difficulty and providing effective strategies for improvement.

  • Autism Spectrum Disorders

Private individual therapy sessions for children on the Autism Spectrum ranging in age from 3-adult. Rebecca has extensive training in several methodologies that are research proven to be effective for this population including ABA, VBA, Relationship development techniques, and more. She utilizes an eclectic mixture of approaches based upon each child’s individual needs and what is most effective for each child. After all, if you’ve met one child with Autism, you’ve met one child with Autism. Each child is unique in his/her learning styles and motivations and Rebecca is adept at problem solving the optimal learning strategy for each child on her caseload.

While each child and therapy session are different, Rebecca wholeheartedly believes that the number one priority and goal of each session for a child with Autism is to keep him socially connected and engaged as close to 100% of the time as possible. Additionally, parent involvement and training are an integral part of Rebecca’s therapy approach to help optimize generalization and carry-over outside of therapy sessions.

  • Apraxia

Over the course of her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist, Rebecca has taught several nonverbal and minimally verbal children to talk. She utilizes a multisensory therapy approach that targets the whole child to teach children to gain control over their ability to produce speech. Rebecca has formalized a structured system of hand cues to prompt speech sound production embeds these cues into her proprietary therapy protocol to teach her students to talk. An essential part of her therapy approach with this population is training the parents and other adults in the child’s life how to use these hand cues outside of speech sessions. Therapy also includes distribution of any necessary materials the family needs to carry-over speech drills at home and school.

  • Feeding Therapy

Rebecca has extensive knowledge and experience in working with children presenting with sensory, behavioral, and oral motor-based feeding difficulties. Rebecca collaborates closely with both the family and the child to determine and accomplish feeding goals treating not just the physical aspects of the feeding difficulty but also the behavioral, conceptual, and emotional aspects as well. Feeding therapy works best with consistency and carry-over, therefore, Rebecca structures a therapeutic approach that trains the child and family both with manageable, fun, and effective ways to carry-over therapy strategies into daily life with the goal of ending the power struggle at mealtime.
