Apraxia

  • Over the course of her career as a Speech-Language Pathologist, Rebecca has taught several
nonverbal and minimally verbal children to talk. She utilizes a multisensory therapy approach
that targets the whole child to teach children to gain control over their ability to produce speech.
Rebecca has formalized a structured system of hand cues to prompt speech sound production
embeds these cues into her proprietary therapy protocol to teach her students to talk. An
essential part of her therapy approach with this population is training the parents and other
adults in the child’s life how to use these hand cues outside of speech sessions. Therapy also
includes distribution of any necessary materials the family needs to carry-over speech drills at
    home and school.
